Engineering Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position is primarily responsible for the overall direction and management of the Process Engineering and Machine Shop Manufacturing activities. The incumbent also provides consultation for Sales and Marketing activities on existing and new product opportunities.  This position constantly works toward improvement of existing process as well as identification of new process technology.

POSITION PREREQUISITES:

The successful candidate must possess a college degree; Engineering degree preferred. Must have at least ten (10) years of experience with increasing responsibility in engineering disciplines. Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to provide leadership, demonstrated mechanical inclination and competence in mechanical design/drafting. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform and/or direct department activities to achieve goals and objectives are completed on-time.
  • Review product/process designs to assure customer needs are met and designs comply with standards.
  • Assure manufacturing departments have proper technical support to solve ongoing processing problems.
  • Display competency in quality standards and assures quality expectations are met.
  • Innovative and progressive regarding all engineering disciplines
  • Motivate engineering and machine shop employees to work as one cohesive unit.
  • Promote activities which improve material and labor productivity.
  • Act as a leader in the concept of Continuous Improvement.
  • Engage with support departments to ensure objectives are met.
  • Assist sales department with product design.
  • Regularly interact with Purchasing Department, suppliers, and other personnel to identify material improvements.
  • Work with Maintenance Department and others to assure proper care and maintenance of process equipment.
  • Prepare department’s capital and operating budgets consistent with forecasted activity levels.
  • Identify equipment and facility needs and actively participate in fulfilling those needs on time and within budget.
  • Assure required EH&S practices are followed.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained in established safety procedures.
  • Administer Strongwell policies in fair, equitable and timely fashions.

Regional Sales Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position is primarily responsible for professionally managing the assigned sales territory to maximize sales and profitability. This position is located in Bristol, Virginia and the Regional Sales Manager is responsible for sales in IA, MO, KS, NE, CO, UT, NV, CA, and HI.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Meet or exceed annual sales goals
  • Maintains a high level of integrity and develops a high degree of trust and respect among customers.
  • Professional behavior, attitude, and appearance at all times
  • Ability to research the territory to identify, and to land potential new customers
  • Achieve specification of Strongwell products with engineering firms and end users directly, and indirectly with manufacturing representatives and distributors
  • Thoroughly prepared for all sales calls
  • Know your territory; competition, markets, customers, and agreements
  • Continually improve product knowledge by spending time in each manufacturing location
  • Continually improve selling and closing skills
  • Ability to create and conduct PowerPoint presentations to new and existing customers, and engineers

  • Support personnel at the appropriate manufacturing location to obtain correct pricing and technical information
  • Communicates with internal personnel with information pertaining to product requirements, acceptability and competitive matters
  • Timely submittal of all required reports and CRM updates
  • Maintain Outlook calendar

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in trade shows, sales presentations, sales meetings, and training sessions for customers
  • Diplomatically resolves customer problems

  • College degree preferred
  • 5-7 years of successful experience in sales

Virginia Operations Accounts Payable Administrator

JOB PURPOSE:

The Accounts Payable Administrator position is responsible for the daily functions of the Virginia Operations AP process which includes invoicing verification, payment processing, journal entries and maintenance of records.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.

Accurately post transactions to the general ledger.

Initiates electronic and paper checks to vendors on a weekly basis.

Scan invoices/AP related documents in DASH document manager

Distribute intercompany charges to divisions.

Generates monthly spreadsheets to managers.

Reconciles accounts payable information to general ledger.

Time Critical Manufacturing (TCM) software comprehension.

Assists with monthly closings.

Maintain regular and predictable attendance.

Work with others in a cooperative fashion.

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrates professional integrity standards and maintains uncompromised confidentiality regarding all company information.

Displays effective time management skills in a high volume environment.

Detail oriented, the individual demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, and monitors own work to ensure quality standards.
