Manager of Health, Safety and Environmental Affairs

JOB PURPOSE: Manages HSE functions for the Virginia Operations.  Performs professional guidance, implementation and administration of environmental safety and health regulations and corporate objectives.  Maintains company standards to improve/protect air, land and water quality and to provide a healthful environment; ensures safety compliance and identifies potential hazardous conditions resulting from human error, machinery and physical elements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide corporate leadership for all HSE initiatives.
  • Maintains progressive competency regarding all HSE disciplines.
  • Interface with appropriate governmental agencies when necessary.
  • Company spokesperson with governmental representatives during inspections and correspondence
  • Provides direction with managers concerning regulation and policy compliances
  • Administers internal environmental and safety audits
  • Develops written environmental and safety programs.
  • ISO 14000 facilitator
  • Ensures accurate and timely postings and reports
  • Administers appropriate HSE testing
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • Work with others in a cooperative fashion
  • Displays professional integrity

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accumulates data and files regulatory reports in an accurate and timely manner
  • Ensures internal compliance regarding HSE matters
  • Supervises workers’ compensation administration/compliance
  • Maintains records retention protocols
  • Serves as engineering project manager as needed
  • Flexible to assist with other company initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS:  Experience, Competencies and Education

  • B.S. or equivalent degree
  • Technically competent including strong analytical and science skills
  • Five years’ manufacturing technical experience
  • Computer literate
  • Proven verbal/written communication skills
  • Plan engineering experience is a plus

Regional Sales Manager

JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for professionally managing the assigned sales territory to maximize sales and profitability.  This position is located in Bristol, Virginia and the RSM is responsible for sales in AR, OK, LA, TX, NM, AZ and Mexico.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Meet or exceed annual sales goals
  • Maintains a high level of integrity and develops a high degree of trust and respect among customers.
  • Professional behavior, attitude, and appearance at all times
  • Ability to research the territory to identify, and to land potential new customers
  • Achieve specification of Strongwell products with engineering firms and end users directly, and indirectly with manufacturing representatives and distributors
  • Thoroughly prepared for all sales calls
  • Know your territory; competition, markets, customers, and agreements
  • Continually improve product knowledge by spending time in each manufacturing location
  • Continually improve selling and closing skills
  • Ability to create and conduct PowerPoint presentations to new and existing customers, and engineers
  • Ability to forecast and execute a business plan that includes meeting all goals for the territory
  • Effectively work with all departments including pricing, accounting, engineering, corporate sales, quality and R&D
  • Support personnel at the appropriate manufacturing location to obtain correct pricing and technical information
  • Communicates with internal personnel with information pertaining to product requirements, acceptability and competitive matters
  • Timely submittal of all required reports and CRM updates
  • Maintain Outlook calendar
  • Required to conduct an in depth by weekly review of the territory

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in trade shows, sales presentations, sales meetings, and training sessions for customers
  • Diplomatically resolves customer problems
  • Remain compliant with all company policies and procedures
  • Willing and able to be a team player assisting where needed to get the job completed

QUALIFICATIONS:  Experience, Competencies and Education

  • College degree preferred
  • 5-7 years of successful experience in sales
  • Strong selling and closing skills
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills are required
  • Requires at least 50% overnight travel
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications and CRM
  • Requires good organizational skills
  • Must be a self-starter
