Strongwell was glad to assist Life Scout Noah Newell with his Eagle Scout badge in 2013. With the support of his assistant scoutmaster, Jeff Roberts (Custom Products Manager-Bristol), Noah needed an innovative way to add an aesthetic touch to a 9- hole Disc Golf Course at Camp Placid in Blountville, TN. Troop 2, based out of South Bristol United Methodist Church in Bristol, TN, has had previous experience using FRP composites and looked again at utilizing the lightweight, high strength and rot resistance properties of EXTREN® FRP from Strongwell. 

Noah and his fellow troop members found that EXTREN® Series 625 3/8” plate would be the perfect material for the course signs at this outdoor environment.  Camp Placid is a small summer camp nicknamed the “Best Kept Secret in Tennessee,” which serves several youth groups during the summer months.
