Strongwell’s tool handles feature a very smooth, glossy appearance and can be made in a wide range of colors.
The color is integral to the part because the pigment is throughout the thickness – not just on the surface of the handle.

Originally designed
for industrial tools, fiberglass handles have gained wide acceptance
for use in tools made for homeowners. Fiberglass tool handles
are designed for a variety of implements including shovels,
rakes, hoes, pruners and post hole diggers.
Combining heavy gauge steel tool implements with pultruded fiberglass
handles results in tools that are strong and durable. |

- Lightweight
- High Impact Resistant
- Low Conductivity
- Corrosion Resistant
- Durable/Weather Resistant Surface
- Aesthetic Appeal
|
|
The bright, attractive colors of the tool handles are produced
by pigmenting the resin in the pultrusion process. With the
color throughout the part, no painting is needed, so chipping
or peeling is eliminated.
A wood grain appearance and customized
colors can also be developed for customer approval. |

After pultruding the round tubes, Strongwell can use a specially
designed plugging machine to reinforce stress points for
shovel handles and other tool handles where strength is critical.
The fiberglass tool handles will not splinter or break under
normal conditions and are extremely strong and long-lasting.
Strongwell tubes are manufactured with surfacing veils unless
otherwise specified. |

Additional fabrication may be required for the finished
tool.
Strongwell's experienced fabrication departments can
provide drilling, routing, plugging, partial assembly or
any value added function that the customer might want.
|
Many standard sizes and colors are available. Custom shapes
and colors will be quoted upon request. Fiberglass tool
handles may be produced cut-to-length or in stock-length
quantities determined by the customer.
Below is a partial list of readily available sizes with
existing tooling. Customized sizes to meet the specific
needs of any customer can be determined by that customer
alone or in consultation with Strongwell engineers. We
recommend consultation to optimize the combination of
performance, appearance and price.
