Environmental and Sustainability

Q:

Does Strongwell have an environmental policy?

A:

Strongwell abides by all local, state and federal government regulations related to protecting our environment.  Strongwell also has an Environmental Policy which is viewable from the Sustainability section on Strongwell’s website.

Q:

Do Strongwell products have independent certification about their sustainability?

A:

Strongwell’s website has multiple Life Cycle Analysis Surveys (LCA’s) of composite products including one independent survey comparing Strongwell’s FRP handrail and walkway system to aluminum and steel systems.  These LCA’s show that Strongwell’s products are much more environmentally friendly than traditional metal products.

Q:

What is Strongwell’s policy on conflict minerals?

A:

Whereas Strongwell is a privately held company and not subject to the Conflict Minerals Rule contained within the Dodd-Frank Act, we oppose human rights violations occurring in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).  As these actions are reportedly being financed from revenues of tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold (3TG or “conflict minerals”) mined in the DRC and surrounding countries, none will knowingly be added into any product we manufacture.  Click to view Strongwell’s full Conflict Minerals Policy.

Q:

What is Strongwell’s position on California Proposition 65 (Prop 65)?

A:

Strongwell’s position is explained in a letter titled “Important Information for Our Customers Regarding Proposition 65.” Questions should be referred to your legal counsel. To read that letter, please click here.
