Process Engineer – Bristol, Virginia Location

Strongwell, the world leader in the manufacture of pultruded composite products, is seeking an engineer for its Bristol, Virginia manufacturing facility. The Process Engineer will work closely with employees in operations, technology and product development to improve processes and systems, productivity improvements and waste reduction efforts. Flexibility is necessary to support multiple shift operations when required. Strong interpersonal, analytical, communication and problem solving skills are required.

Requirements / Key Responsibilities include:

  • B.S. in mechanical, chemical or composite engineering
  • Creative technical aptitude.
  • A keen desire to learn a unique and growing manufacturing process.
  • Hands-on capabilities with ability to communicate effectively with various manufacturing departments.
  • Understanding of best manufacturing processes
  • Ability to multi-task assignments
  • Analyze, recommend and implement process improvements
  • Report on process activities
  • Recommend and implement productivity improvements
  • Recommend and implement waste reduction processes
  • Investigate and resolve production problems
  • Work with development team to investigate new processes and formulas

Qualifications:

  • Excellent computer skills

  • Efficient in 3D modeling software, specifically Inventor
  • Composite industry experience in process engineering

Ideal Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years’ process engineering experience
  • ISO, AutoCad, ERP Systems exposure
  • Environmental and Safety familiarity
  • Pultrusion manufacturing experience is a plus
  • Process automation

Customer Account Associate – Bristol, Virginia Location

JOB PURPOSE:

This position provides critical support for the success of the Customer Service Department. Assisting the Account Managers and the department manager, the incumbent is responsible for order accuracy, fulfillment, data collection and order entry integrity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive and review sales orders from Account Managers on daily basis to ensure data accuracy and that the PO matches the quote.
  • Effectively communicate with Scheduling, Production Control and Manufacturing to confirm that orders are scheduled in a timely manner and receive delivery dates.
  • Efficiently process orders utilizing the TCM system.
  • Expedite requests for rush orders and collaborate with resources to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with team members to effectively complete orders that require joint processing.
  • Proactively update internal and external representatives regarding shipment status.
  • Professionally communicate with customers via phone, email and other forms of correspondence.
  • Maintain expeditious response time regarding customer inquiries.
  • Appropriate follow-through of order cancellations and changes
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned by the Customer Relations Manager
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • Work with others in a cooperative fashion

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Update sales opportunities in CRM and assist Account Managers with their CRM efforts.
  • Maintain the order booking logs (Bell Ringer Report).
  • Coordinate and process sample requests.
  • Provide administrative support for Account Managers.
  • Document tracking status utilizing DASH.
  • Provide timely responses regarding certificates of compliance (COC), tracking numbers, order status and projections.

Custom Products Manager – Chatfield, Minnesota Location

JOB PURPOSE:

Responsible for promoting products, establishing new customers, and developing and maintaining good business relationships.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for generating new business and qualifying new leads by exploring opportunities with inquiring customers and by presenting Strongwell's capabilities to them.  Also responsible for maintaining customer relationships with assigned custom accounts.
  • Responsible for establishing Custom Product sales goals and budget and monitoring and reporting results as they relate to the goals and the budget.
  • Responsible for establishing pricing on estimates and quotes with new customers and regularly up-dating pricing with existing customers on custom products.
  • Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of Strongwell's production and delivery schedules.
  • Develop programs and strategies to meet Custom Product sales goals and budget.
  • Travel as necessary to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, solve problems and maintain accounts.  May also travel to attend trade shows, corporate meetings, or to meet with the customer.
  • Be able to promote products using samples or promotional material, emphasizing salable qualities whether at trade shows, or one on one.
  • Work closely with Engineering, QA and Production in order to develop new products and improve existing products.

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must have good communication skills, customer service skills, and good sales and presentation skills.
  • Must keep informed and maintain knowledge of competitors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and directed.
  • Comply with Company guidelines, rules, and procedures as contained in the Employee Handbook and policy memos

QUALIFICATIONS:  Experience, Competencies and Education:

  • High School Education with 1-2 years vocational or technical education
  • 2-3 years of in-house experience could replace vocational/technical education requirement
