LA Cellular has been quite successful in establishing unobtrusive cell sites by utilizing FRP cellular screening. The cellular shield atop the Motel 6 in Rosemead, CA is an excellent example. Surrounding hills and residences made this a critical cell-site location but the motel, located alongside a major Los Angeles freeway, was sensitive to how the roof-top cell site would look. By using EXTREN® 1/4" plate supported by 3" Angle and 12" I-beams and stuccoed to match the building, they were able to screen the cellular antennae without interfering with either the communications signals or the view of the motel from the highway.

Prior approval of the EXTREN® Design Manual by the Los Angeles City engineers was a major advantage - as well as local availability of materials through EXTREN® distributor, Ryan Herco.
