Donating School Supplies

As part of its annual campaign, the United Way of Bristol solicits requests from its partner agencies for companies to dedicate time and/or resources for projects which are beyond the capabilities of the nonprofits to accomplish or achieve on their own.

In an effort to do something collaborative and impactful, Strongwell’s team members decided this year’s “Day of Caring” project would center on helping students involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Tri-Cities.

A survey by Deloitte recently estimated that parents will spend an average of almost $500 per child on school supplies. Learning that information, the Strongwell team built custom boxes and strategically placed them around the plant for employees to donate school supplies to help offset that cost for families in need. Employees donated lunchboxes, book bags, markers, crayons, binders, hand sanitizers, tissues, glue, erasers, pencils, calculators, and other popular school essentials.

The collection was deemed a success with an immediate impact for students attending local schools within the Tri-Cities.
