Employees Embrace the Christmas Spirit
Originally founded in 1927, the Santa Pal program was created to brighten the Christmas spirit of hundreds of economically disadvantaged children and families in Bristol, Virginia; Bristol Tennessee; and part of Sullivan County.
Each year, the program works with parents, schools systems, and nonprofit agencies in identifying and providing the wants and needs of children and their families throughout the community. The program also addresses the needs of food insecurity by providing gift certificates for groceries during the Christmas season. For 2019, the program sponsored over 600 kids throughout the local community.
As an annual tradition of community Christmas giving, fifteen Strongwell employees worked with the events and planning committee in becoming secret elves for fifteen well-deserving children. Afterwards, employees set up a secret workshop to box, wrap, and assemble toys. Many thanks to the events and planning committee for helping Santa with the daunting task of helping all the kids have a great Christmas!
