Employees Gain Lifesaving CPR, AED, and First Aid Training
Recently, several employees participated in the certification or recertification of CPR/AED and FIRST Aid Training. Conducted and led by Appalachian First Aid, attendees had the option to complete multiple hours of video-based training paired with a “best practices” classroom instruction session or an intensive full hands-on format. Within the class session, members were introduced to “MEDIC FIRST AID Basic Plus”. This training program’s primary purpose is to teach individuals how to recognize and care for adult medical emergencies until EMS personnel arrive.
Topics covered were:
Role of First Aid Provider
Legal Considerations
Emergency Transport
AED usage
Abdominal Thrusts
CPR with chest compressions and rescue breaths
Identifying Breathing Issues
Treatment of Poisoning
Heat/Cold Emergencies
Wound Treatments
Many thanks to team members from Environmental Health & Safety, Human Resources, Fabrication, Quality, Purchasing/Pricing, Estimation, Marketing, Quality, Production Control, and Shipping departments for participating in potentially life-saving training.
