Each year, the Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Tennessee hosts its largest and longest fundraiser, Bowl for Kids Sake. The event brings together more than 1,000 supporters annually via local bowling parties.

Strongwell recently had the opportunity to support one of our employees who is also a Big Sister, Lydia Sinemus (Corporate Director, Human Resources and Environmental Health & Safety). For the past few years, Lydia has been actively involved with the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Tri-Cities organization as a Big Sister to a local student.

Over 30 employees and 7 teams participated in this year’s fundraising event hosted at the Uncle Buck’s Bowling Lanes in Bristol, TN. Teams included employees from Process Engineering, Administrative, Sales, Marketing, Accounting, Senior Management, Purchasing, Operations, and Estimating departments. Each team was also provided with a custom designed “Bowling for Kids Sake” shirt, designed by Brian Godwin (Digital Media Specialist).

Employees are already looking to forward to planning next year’s event. Many thanks to the planning committee and the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Great Tri-Cities for organizing and providing a great opportunity to support community mentorships.
