As the world’s leading pultruder of fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) composites, Strongwell is celebrating a significant safety milestone at its Highlands manufacturing facility in Abingdon, Virginia: five consecutive years without a lost time accident.

This five-year milestone highlights the Highlands team’s commitment to a safety-first culture and consistent safe work practices.

“This achievement reflects the ongoing dedication and accountability of every individual on the Highlands team,” said Karie Castle, (Manager, Environmental Health and Safety-Virginia Operations). “Safety doesn’t happen by chance. It requires daily attention to detail, looking out for one another, and making choices that protect both people and operations. Five years without a lost time accident is a true testament to that culture.”

Team members and management at the Highlands facility marked the milestone with an on-site celebration with raffle prizes and a Strongwell Highlands Safetycatered meal from Burger Bar to honor their collective accomplishment.

“We are incredibly proud of our team for reaching this milestone,” said Robert Evans, (Plant Manager-Highlands). “Every day, our team demonstrates that safety is not just a word. It’s part of who we are. The entire team’s commitment to working safely ensures that we all go home the same way we came in, and it builds the foundation for everything we accomplish together.”
