Inspired by Childhood Hunger through Giving Tuesday

Highland View Elementary in Bristol, Virginia was recently featured on NBC’s “Today” show as one part within a national series focused on the fight against childhood hunger.

In response to the national No Kid Hungry campaign and as part of the Giving Tuesday series, Strongwell recently made a donation to the BVPS Education Foundation. This donation is designated to assist in meal support during experiential field trips for all Pre-K children within the Bristol Virginia Public School system.
With so much of today’s learning processes based upon experiences, the opportunities for cultural education shouldn’t be hindered due to a student’s ability to pay for outside meals during field trips. Studies have shown that field trips reinforce classroom lessons and materials.

Strongwell also donated funds directly to the Community Resource Center with Bristol Tennessee City Schools. As the outreach arm of the school system, it ensures that all families and students can gain no cost access to seasonal family clothing provisions, nonperishable food, personal hygiene items, school supplies, cleaning supplies, and footwear.

Many thanks to BTCS and Bristol Virginia Public Schools for allowing us to be an ongoing community partner against generational poverty.
