Strongwell and Boys and Girls Clubs Build Relationships through Steak
Strongwell recently sponsored the 23rd annual Steak and Stake Dinner hosted by the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Mountain Empire. This special event allows businesses and individuals to meet the youth who are served daily by the Boys and Girls Clubs and to encourage them to “Be Great!” This year’s event was filled with great food, along with plenty of laughter and fun as over 200 adults and youths shared generational experiences.
The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Mountain Empire is a nonprofit youth development agency which serves more than 1,200 children annually at four different locations within two counties. It provides access to quality programming in: the arts, character and leadership development, education and career development, health and life skills, sports, fitness and recreation. This year’s Steak and Stake Dinner again showed promising annual growth as it brought in over $60,000 for the organization.
During the dinner, Wade Lopez of Lopez Wealth Management Group and Glenn Barefoot (VP of Business Development and Marketing-Bristol) were each awarded the 2015 Zella Arnold Award for their years of service and dedication to provide local youth with recreation and companionship within the confines of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Mountain Empire.
Strongwell would like to thank the other major sponsors of the this event: Fairway Independent Mortgage Companies, J.A. Street and Associates, Quaker Steak & Lube, Friendship Family of Dealerships, Lopez Wealth Management, Food Country USA, Meade Tractor, and United Company Charitable Foundation for their continued dedication to allow the youth of today to “BE GREAT” tomorrow.
