Strongwell would like to recognize David Ring (Manager, Government Affairs & Strategic Projects-Bristol) for his tireless involvement with the United Way of Bristol during the 2012-2013 fundraising campaign.  David succeeded Dawn Figueiras as President of the United Way Board of Directors with the extraordinary challenge of raising $1.4 million – the highest goal in the history of the United Way of Bristol. The goal was determined due to the diverse challenges of what close to 30 local non-profits from both Bristol cities were addressing and servicing on a daily basis.

When asked about the challenge in the beginning, David’s quoted response was that, “the community will rise up to meet them.” The goal was met and exceeded on January 8th, 2013 with donations totaling $1,403,837.61, setting a new historical giving record.  We would like to thank the United Way, partnership agencies, volunteers, committees, board members and our community for truly making Bristol a great place to live.
