Students Presenting In Turn of their Summer Project Experience
Earlier this summer, Strongwell welcomed six students into its summer college internship program. These students represented Northeast State, University of Tennessee-Knoxville, and East Tennessee State University. At the completion of the summer program, interns were required to summarize their summer projects along with their experiences to a variety of team members. Throughout each of the presentations, team members were given the opportunity to ask questions and gain a short- and long-term cost-benefit analysis of each project upon implementation.
Below is a summary of each intern’s summer project.
- Madilyn Morelock (UT) – Speed Trials, Heat Transfer, Gel Testing, and Roving Substitutions
- Kaemon Nelson (UT) – Lab Pultruder, Test Fixtures, and DMA Studies with the Research and Development Team
- Benjamin Eldreth (ETSU) – Fabrication Processes Time Studies using Meta Data
- Emily Adams (Northeast State) – Collection and Documenting MACT Hours/Safety Guard Designs
- Joshua Graham (UT) – Saw Upgrades with Fabrication Expansion
- Zachary Ross- (UT) – Temperature Controller System Upgrades with Data Synchronization
Towards the conclusion of the summer session, the interns toured Strongwell’s Highlands facility to gain a better understanding of expansion plans and additional production capacity.
