Strongwell representatives were recently invited by the Institute for Advanced Composites Manufacturing Innovation (IACMI), the University of Tennessee of Knoxville, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and the Joint Institute for Advanced Materials to tour its main campus and visit its polymer composite characterization facilities.

With the recent partnership announcement with Volkswagen Group of America, a new innovation hub was created to develop lighter vehicle components. In an effort to further the growth of composites, the group has made multiple developments within the development of carbon fiber and the electrification of vehicles.

As a result of the tour, experts discussed how ongoing current research partnerships and opportunities will have significant economic and environmental benefits for the region and the nation.
