Strongwell Employee Honored with Service Leadership Award

DSC_0058editedwpOn January 23, Tekai Shu (Social Media and Print Specialist) was presented the Leadership Service Award from the Bristol Tennessee/Virginia Chamber of Commerce. Tekai earned this high honor as a result of his efforts in representing LEAD Bristol, the city’s leadership development program.

Due largely to Tekai’s work with social media for the LEAD Bristol program, LEAD’s Facebook followers increased 90% while Twitter followers increased 250% in 2014. Since joining LEAD Bristol in 2013 and graduating its official program in May 2014, Tekai has continued to promote LEAD and the Chamber of Commerce and assist with various LEAD Bristol activities.

Tekai is no stranger to volunteer service or community involvement. In March, Tekai was awarded one of the United Way of Bristol Tennessee/Virginia’s highest honors: Volunteer of the Year. Tekai has also been involved with March of Dimes, the Boys and Girls Club of the Mountain Empire, and numerous other groups and causes.

Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition, Tekai!
